"I'm originally from Palestine, and my roots are there. I moved to England for work and study, eventually graduating from Salford University in Manchester with a degree in English Literature. My passion lies in helping people, particularly in social services and the NHS. Before moving here, I travelled a lot for work, gaining experience in Romania, Jordan, Oman, and various other countries across the Middle East.

I'm fortunate to speak Arabic in 24 different dialects, along with Turkish and Romanian. These language skills have allowed me to act as a bridge for vulnerable people and families, helping them navigate services and translating when necessary. As part of a team covering 12 GPs in Leeds and Harehills, particularly in the LS8 and LS9 areas, I work as a Patient Ambassador. This role is more than just social work to me. Through it, I amplify the voices of vulnerable people and help them feel welcomed and supported.

What inspires me the most is witnessing small dreams turn into reality with just a little support. From my own experiences, I know that people often need only a small amount of help to realise their potential. It's important not to judge people by first impressions; you never know their capabilities. When I see people transform – when they go from low mood and mental health struggles to finding strength in shared experiences and skills – That really gives me hope and inspires me. I'm learning from the patients I'm helping. Every day, I'm learning.

My dream is to build a strong, loving community. A community where people respect each other's differences, regardless of background, religion, culture, or skin colour. My vision is one of fairness and justice, where everyone has equal rights. I want to create spaces where people come together to share, collaborate, and build something meaningful.

To be honest with you, from the bottom of my heart, I wish for an end to all the wars in the world. No more war. No more children dying, no more victims. I pray for peace, Wallahi [I swear by God]. That is my main dua [prayer], what I really hope from the bottom of my heart. Stop war, and equality for everybody. No double standards."
